Troy University to hold Ms. Venus Pageant on March 20

TROY, Ala. – Troy University students will compete in the Ms. Venus Pageant at 7 p.m. on March 20 in the Claudia Crosby Theater on the Troy Campus.

The pageant, which was formerly known as the Ms. Shamrock Pageant, is open to all female students, regardless of age or marital status, who currently attend a Troy University campus in Alabama.

According to the pageant’s organizer Brenda Campbell, contestants will be judged in the categories of poise, evening gown and overall appearance and must attend a mandatory practice on the day of the pageant.

The winner of the Ms. Venus Pageant will receive a $150 book scholarship, a crown and a banner. The winner also will be featured in the University’s Spring Fling Parade and represent the University at Spring Alumni Reunion activities on March 29. The first alternate will receive a $100 book scholarship, while the second alternate will receive a $50 book scholarship. The scholarships are sponsored by the Troy University Alumni Association.
