This St. Patrick’s Day (Monday, March 17), Troy University will honor military veterans with a reception on the Dothan Campus. Photos and memorabilia from veterans close to University faculty, staff and students will be on display at the reception, which is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Harrison Room in Malone Hall. Those who attend the reception will be asked to fill out “thank-you” cards, which will be sent to troops serving overseas. At 11:45 a.m., a representative from the Fleet Reserve Association, which is made up of current and former enlisted members of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, will present a 50-dollar savings bond to eighth-grader Sydney Woodham. The Midland City student is one of six essay contest winners in the region. Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Keith Seagle at 334-983-6556, ext. 1-221.
