TROY – Troy University’s Office of Development is offering estate-planning professionals in Alabama a seminar on advanced topics in estate planning Sept. 12.
“Winton Smith’s Charitable Tax Strategies for Professional Advisors” is an advanced seminar for attorneys, accountants, trust officers, investment advisors and others in up-to-the-minute information on family limited partnerships, pension plan gifts, charitable retirement plans and wealth replacement trusts, according to Ward Sullivan, TROY’s director of planned giving who is coordinating the seminar.
The seminar will be conducted from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Trojan Center Ballrooms on the Troy Campus.
“This is a great opportunity for professional advisors to hear from one of the foremost experts on estate planning law in America,” said Sullivan. “Another benefit is that the registration fee is lower than what most other comparable seminars cost.”
A basic seminar was conducted by the Development Office in May 2008.
September’s course offers 6.5 CLE and 8 CPE units including ethics. The registration fee of $100 covers the course materials, breakfast and lunch. The registration deadline is Sept. 8. To register, those interested in attending should call the University’s Office of Development at 334-670-3608, or may email the office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Walk-in registration is also available the day of the seminar at a cost of $125.
