TROY, AL – Troy University’s Department of Kinesiology & Health Promotion (KHP) will present the Nick Costes 5K Run on Saturday, April 4 on the Troy Campus.
The race is held in memory of Costes, a former Troy University professor and Olympic marathon runner. All proceeds will benefit Troy University’s Department of Kinesiology & Health Promotion Club, as well as the establishment of a KHP Scholarship fund. The KHP Club supports sport and health education to students and community members throughout the Troy area.
The run will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Luther Drive across from the University’s track and field complex, and will wind back through the campus. Awards of $100, $50 and $25 will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Awards also will be given to winners in each age group.
Entry forms are available at 112 Wright Hall on the Troy Campus or by contacting Michael Green at firstname.lastname@example.org. Pre-registration is $10 and ends March 27. Registration the day of the race will begin at 7:30 a.m. and is $12. All pre-registrants will receive a race t-shirts. Race day registrants will receive a t-shirt as supplies last.
