MONTGOMERY—Troy University’s Rosa Parks Museum has launched a new membership program, giving patrons expanded opportunities to support and take part in exhibits, programs and special events.
Since opening in December 2000, the Rosa Parks Museum has seen continued growth, including the addition of a children’s wing, more full-time staff and an increased exhibition and program schedule.
“This has been done with grants, sponsorships and major donations,” said Georgette Norman, museum director. “But times are changing, and we are not immune to the overall economic hardships influencing the decisions of so many local businesses and corporations.”
The new membership program will allow visitors and friends of the museum to play a key role in supporting the museum’s programs and events.
“Our members will assist the museum in continuing its commitment to cultural enrichment for our visitors,” Norman said.
The museum offers several individual membership levels, from the $35 associate level to the $150 patron level. Discounted student and family memberships are also offered.
All memberships are for one year and include free admission to the museum, personal invitations to exhibition openings and special events and discounts at the gift shop. Additional benefits are available at higher membership levels.
In addition to individual memberships, the museum also offers three business membership levels that include free passes for multiple guests and a discount on the auditorium rental.
