Earth Day Fair to be held at TROY Dothan Campus

DOTHAN – Members of the Environmental Awareness Organization at Troy University’s Dothan Campus aim to inspire and educate during the first ever Earth Day Fair on Wednesday, April 22.

The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the rotunda of the Library/Technology Building.

The event will include opportunities to learn more about local environmental causes and nuclear power and a free viewing of the film “Who Killed the Electric Car?”. There will also be chances to win free passes to the upcoming movie “Disney Nature’s Earth!”

Guest speakers for the day include TROY graduate student Jatin Patel who will give an animal presentation at 1 p.m. in Sony Hall. At 1:30 p.m., TROY professor Dr. Gary Manfready will give a presentation on global warming.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to donate old cell phones and printer ink cartridges to be recycled. Proceeds from those donations will go to support Legacy, Inc. of Alabama, said Nina Golden, EAO president.
