TROY – Troy University’s Small Business Development Center is co-sponsoring an Equal Employment Opportunity seminar at from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. May 7 at the Pike County Economic Development Center in Troy.
The seminar, co-sponsored by the Pike County Chamber of Commerce, will feature Sheri Guenster, a federal investigator with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
“My presentation will provide practical guidance in dealing with the EEOC,” she said. “A few of the topics will be ‘What is the EEOC?,’ ‘What are the Laws Enforced by the EEOC?,’ ‘Who Can File a Claim with the EEOC?,’ and ‘How Charges are Resolved.’ I will also be available to answer audience questions.”
Sandra Lucas, TROY SBDC director, said she believes business owners and managers can benefit from the seminar.
“I heard her speak last year and felt that our business community could certainly benefit from this type of seminar. Anyone with a human resources interest will gain from attending,” Lucas said.
