DOTHAN—Troy University’s Dothan Campus will restart graduate degree programs in psychometry and school psychology this fall after a two year hiatus.
“These are two very vital programs that will allow TROY to help meet the growing demand for school psychologists and psychometrists,” said Dr. Ginger Mayer, associate professor of counseling and psychology. “The school psychologist and psychometrist are two of the top three support personnel in any school.”
Even as the demand for school psychologists and psychometrists is growing, school systems are facing a shortage of qualified candidates, Mayer said.
The Dothan Campus has been without the two graduate programs for two years after the previous instructor left. TROY has hired Dr. Brian Boehman to restart to the programs, Mayer said.
