TROY—Troy University Chancellor Jack Hawkins Jr. told some 850 high school juniors and seniors to make the most of their college careers.
Speaking in Claudia Crosby Theater for Spring Preview Day Saturday, Dr. Hawkins challenged the students to learn the most they can, budget wisely and to have fun while in school.
“The purpose of an undergraduate degree is not only about making a living, but about making a life,” he said. “Your undergraduate experience should be a journey of exploration – a journey that includes great books, the sciences and the arts.”
High school seniors and their parents were on campus to find out about the learning and living opportunities afforded TROY students, said Dean of Enrollment Management Buddy Starling.
“We are excited to offer our prospective students an opportunity to see what Troy University has to offer both in terms of academic programs, social life, clubs and athletics,” he said.
