Troy University honored for communications efforts

TROY—Troy University’s Advancement and External Relations Division has been honored for its communication and marketing efforts by the International Academy of the Visual Arts’ (IAVA) Communicator Awards.

Troy University was recognized with four awards in the 16th annual competition, including Awards of Excellence for the “Troy University Magazine” and the “Parent Degree Program Brochure.”

The University also received Awards of Distinction for “Think Pink Nursing Print Advertisement” and the “International Programs Brochure.”

“External recognition from these awards reflects well on our staff’s creativity and further validates our efforts among peers and accrediting bodies,” said Dr. John Schmidt, senior vice chancellor for advancement and external relations. “Obviously, we take great pride in our work. Most of all, we are honored that industry leaders see value in our productions.”

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by IAVA, a 550-plus member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. With thousands of entries received from across the U.S. and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals. IAVA membership is made of representatives from media, advertising and marketing firms including: Coach, Disney, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Estee Lauder, HBO, MTV Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Wired and Yahoo!
