Exxon Valdez author and environmental activist speaks Wednesday

Wednesday, Sept. 22, 3 p.m.:Dr. Riki Ott, a nationally known author, environmental activist and public speaker will present “The Gulf Oil Spill: Exxon Valdez Revisited?” in the Trojan Center Ballrooms.

A resident of Cordova, Alaska, she is the author of “Sound Truth and Corporate Myth$: The Legacy of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill” and “Not One Drop: Promises, Betrayal, and Courage in the Wake of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill” (Chelsea Green, 2008). She is also the founder of three nonprofit organizations that deal with lingering harm from man-made environmental disaster.

A brief media availability will take place at 2:45 p.m. in the Ballroom lobby on the second floor of the Trojan Center.
