Deadline nears for Troy University Homecoming Parade entries

TROY, Ala.—The Pike County Chamber of Commerce will host the 56th annual Troy University Homecoming Appreciation Day Parade on Nov. 13 and the deadline for entries is fast approaching.

The Homecoming parade is set for 10 a.m., Nov. 13 in downtown Troy, and Chamber President Leigh Anne Windham is encouraging local businesses and organizations to take part. Deadline for entries is Oct. 29.

“The homecoming parade gives us the opportunity to recognize Troy University and the important role it plays in our community,” Windham said. “We invite all businesses, industries and organizations to be a part of this annual community event.”

The theme of this year’s Homecoming festivities is “Celebration of the Trojan Nation.”

Windham said the following guidelines will apply to the event:

  • Professional floats are available featuring your business or organization’s message saluting Troy University
  • Only antique vehicles and vehicles representing Troy University organizations are permitted
  • No horses are allowed
  • No items may be thrown or handed out from floats and no walkers will be allowed with floats for safety reasons.
