TROY—Troy University will conduct fall commencement exercises on the Troy Campus Dec. 10.

The event in which about 400 students will graduate is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. in Sartain Hall. Tickets, free to guests, will be required.

The Hon. Kim Swan, a TROY alumnus and member of Bermuda’s parliament, will offer the commencement address.

Swan was TROY Golf’s Most Valuable Player 1978 and 1979, won two collegiate individual titles and his team finished fourth in the NCAA Division II Championship in 1979. After completing his bachelor of science degree in 1980, he went on to play golf on the PGA European Tour for three years.

He has represented the United Bermuda Party in Bermuda’s Senate since 1998, serving as Opposition Senate Leader since 2001. An outspoken voice for a more equitable Bermuda, he spearheaded a highly successful Island-wide petition in support of a Constitutional Conference and Referendum about the Government’s proposal to alter constituency boundaries. He represents St. Georges-West.
