TROY—Troy University is extending an invitation to all alumni to attend the University’s annual Spring Alumni Reunion weekend, March 25-27, on the Troy Campus.
Alumni Affairs Director Faith Ward said the annual event provides alumni with the opportunity to reconnect with former classmates, as well as the University.
“Spring Reunion weekend is an important event in the life of Troy University,” Ward said. “We hope that all members of the TROY family will take advantage of this opportunity to reunite and reconnect with former classmates and friends, take part in the fun activities we have planned and witness first-hand the tremendous growth that is taking place on campus.”
Activities in which alumni can participate will get under way beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 25. The opening ceremony for Troy University’s Relay for Life will begin at 5 p.m. on Tailgate Terrace and the Trojan baseball team will play host to Sun Belt Conference foe Arkansas-Little Rock beginning at 6 p.m. at Riddle-Pace Field. The two teams will also face off at 6 p.m. on March 26 and at 1 p.m. on March 27.
Alumni of the University’s Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion are invited to attend the department’s annual awards banquet, beginning at 6 p.m., March 25, in the Trojan Center Ballrooms. Admission to the event is $15, and reservations should be made by calling 334-670-3443.
Reunion activities will continue on Saturday, March 26, beginning with a reunion of members of Delta Chi fraternity on the grounds of the Alumni House at 10 a.m. Delta Chi alumni will celebrate the fraternity’s 45 year history as a part of the University’s Greek system. A St. Patrick’s Day-themed parade will take place at noon on University Avenue, followed by a fish fry next to Trojan Arena. Tickets for the fish fry are $10 per person and are available by contacting the Alumni Office at . 3346703318.
The University’s Letter Winners Alumni Chapter will hold its annual luncheon and chapter meeting on the grounds of the Alumni House beginning at 1 p.m., followed by a spring football scrimmage at Veterans Memorial Stadium beginning at 2 p.m.
The weekend’s activities will conclude with the annual Alumni Reunion Dinner scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Trojan Center Ballrooms. The dinner will be preceded by a reception at 5:30 p.m. in the second floor lobby of the Trojan Center.
During the dinner, Silver and Golden Trojans, along with Lifetime Members of the University’s Alumni Association will be honored. In addition, Alumni Chapter awards will be presented and the University will honor alumnus and former TROY Trustee Dr. Harold Collins with the Distinguished Leadership Award. Tickets for the event are $30, which includes admission to the reception. Reservation deadline for the dinner is March 21.
