2:00 p.m. Torch Run: The torch run will begin at First Baptist Church on North Three Notch street, proceed around the Square and then along Elm Street to George Wallace Drive. The run will enter Veterans Memorial Stadium via the north end zone. Coverage of the torch run, which includes escort from Alabama law enforcement is available at any point along the route, but may be best situated near the bridge next to Troy Police Department, or at the stadium.
6:30 p.m. Opening Ceremonies in Veterans Memorial Stadium
Saturday:9 a.m.: Tornado survivor media opportunity at softball complex: Tuscaloosa SB team members include Olympians Steve Wesley and Jimmy Ernest. They are available for interview prior to their game. Both lost their homes in the tornado outbreak.
