TROY seeks to team businesses with Shaw Group

TROY – Troy University's Small Business Development Center and the Alabama Procurement Technical Assistance Center will give area businesses an opportunity to discuss subcontracting with a Fort Rucker Prime Contractor.

The Subcontracting Opportunities with the Shaw Group session will be from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 12 in the Harrison Room of Malone Hall on the Dothan Campus, said Judy Calin, a senior consultant at the Center.

The Shaw Group is a major federal government prime contractor providing public works and logistics services for the U.S. Army at Fort Rucker. A briefing on the subcontracting opportunities will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Shaw is currently seeking subcontractors in the following areas: asbestos removal, lead abatement, mold remediation, floor covering, general contracting, painting, HVAC heating and cooling, crane/hoisting, fabricating, duct cleaning, electrical, plumbing, airfield lighting, excavating, demolishing, concrete forming/placing and finishing, signs, glass/windows, fencing, and tree cutting.

There is no charge to attend the event, but pre-registration is requested for the briefing and required for one-on-one appointments.
