TROY's online computer science program makes national best buy list

For the second time in a week, a Troy University online degree program has been ranked as a top 20 best buy nationally.

The University's undergraduate computer science and information technology degree was ranked in the 16th spot. is a national consumer group that provides comparative data on some 3,800 regionally accredited online programs as a service to help students locate high-quality online education programs.

This Get Educated Best Buy ranking is based on a national survey of 50 regionally accredited colleges that offer 94 different online bachelor's in computer science and IT. The survey covered a wide range of computer science majors, including information systems, applied technology and telecommunications. Earlier, TROY's online undergraduate psychology program made a similar list.

“Affordability is just one facet of what we provide our online students," said Dr. Lance Tatum, Vice Chancellor of Global Campus, the arm of the University that oversees programs outside of the state of Alabama and eTROY.

“This recognition further demonstrates that eTROY faculty and staff are dedicated to providing our students quality at every step of the degree program," he said.

The cost of obtaining the online bachelor's degree at the University was well below the national average of $49,546
