MONTGOMERY - Troy University's Symphony Band will perform a selection of classic works from the group's repertoire during a concert at the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m.
Under the direction of Dr. Mark Walker, the University's Director of Bands, the Symphony Band is the premiere instrumental performing ensemble in the John M. Long School of Music and showcases the talents and musicianship of the top 55 wind and percussion musicians at Troy University. This nationally recognized ensemble is open by audition only at the beginning of each semester and gives numerous concerts year-round. Additionally, the band records and tours extensively throughout the southeast during the spring semester.
The concert will also include a performance of "The Stars and Stripes Forever" conducted by TROY's Director of Bands Emeritus, Dr. John M. Long.

The Davis Theatre season will continue on Thursday, March 13, with the classic Broadway musical "Sweet Charity."
