Posted: Thursday, 30 October 2014

TROY - The Troy University Concert Chorale will present its fall concert, "Invocations and Remembrance," at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9.

The concert will be held at the Bush Memorial Baptist Church on George Wallace Drive in Troy and is free and open to the public.

The Concert Chorale is the premier vocal ensemble in the John M. Long School of Music. Membership is through open audition.

The choir of 36 singers will perform sacred selections by Beethoven, Victoria, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saƫns, and contemporary composers as well.

"I believe that choral music has the unique ability to reach across time to speak to contemporary audiences," said Dr. Diane Orlofsky, conductor of the Concert Chorale. "Whether it is medieval Gregorian chant or modern settings of ancient texts, this music has the power to touch us at the core of who we are. We hope that the audience will join us as we explore the ancient and the eternal through choral expressions of devotion and remembrance."
