Polish professor, author to speak at Troy University

TROY - A renowned professor and author from Poland will speak at Troy University next week.

Dr. Wladyslaw Witalisz, dean of studies and professor of English at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, will deliver a lecture in the Hall of Honor on Feb. 23 at the Troy Campus.

The lecture, titled "The Trojan War in Medieval English Literature," starts at 2:30 p.m. and is open to students, faculty and the public free of charge.

The Jagiellonian University was founded in 1364 and counts Nicholas Copernicus among its famous students.

Witalisz has authored numerous books, including "The Trojan Mirror: Middle English Narratives of Troy as Books of Princely Advice."
