MONTGOMERY - Troy University will offer a professional writing and grammar boot camp workshop tailored specifically for professional business communications on Feb. 27 at the University's Montgomery Campus.
Presented by the campus' English Department, the event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Gold Room of Whitley Hall, located at 231 Montgomery Street. The workshop, "Do the Write Thing: Effective Communication Made Fun and Easy," is open to professionals, entrepreneurs, small businesses, students, and the general public and will provide participants with the opportunity to improve business communication and daily grammar skills.
"You will learn how to confidently express yourself clearly and correctly through a daylong adventure of activities and games focused on improving your grammar that can greatly impact workplace communications and improve success in your place of business," said Dr. Kirk Curnutt, chair of Troy University's Department of English.
Participants will learn how to avoid embarrassing grammar mistakes and discover proven strategies for résumés and cover letters.
A $20 registration fee includes lunch with keynote speaker, Suzanne La Rosa, publisher of New South Books.
