Sept. 7, 2 p.m., Civic Room, Whitley Hall, TROY Montgomery Campus – Troy University and the Alabama World Affairs Council will sign a partnership agreement on Sept. 7 that will make the University’s Montgomery Campus home to the Council’s lecture series and events.
The signing ceremony will take place in the Civic Room of Whitley Hall at TROY Montgomery at 2 p.m., Wednesday.
The ceremony will include remarks from Dr. Lance Tatum, Vice Chancellor of the Montgomery Campus, Dr. Grant Hammond, President of the Alabama World Affairs Council, and Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor of Troy University. Following remarks, Dr. Hawkins and Dr. Hammond will officially sign a Memorandum of Understanding before being available for media interviews.
The Alabama World Affairs Council is a nonprofit organization that seeks to promote public awareness and understanding of international affairs as they relate to U.S. interests in the context of political, economic, cultural, historical and military issues. The Council sponsors lectures and programs on current and recent events of national and international interests throughout the year with the aim to foster a democratic society through increasing individual knowledge of world affairs.
