Nimrod T. “Rod” Frazer, a community leader, author and retired investment banker, will deliver the keynote address to graduates at the Montgomery Campus during the spring commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. tonight in the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Nearly 170 students are expected to receive degrees this spring at the Montgomery Campus. Read more.

About 143 students will graduate during the Dothan Campus Spring Commencement on May 21 at the Dothan Civic Center. Commencement exercises begin at 3 p.m.

The keynote speaker is Danny Sharp, a broker for Coldwell Banker Commercial Alfred Saliba Realty and the current president of the Dothan Area Chamber Foundation. Sharp also serves as a commissioner with the Alabama Real Estate Commission. Read more.

TROY Alumni Night with the Biscuits

The Montgomery Biscuits game on May 18 will have a Trojan theme as the Biscuits are hosting Troy University Alumni Night as they face off against the Jackson Generals at 7:05 p.m.

As part of the event, T-Roy and TROY cheerleaders will be in attendance as fans will have the opportunity to win prizes and giveaways throughout the night. Athletic staff will also be at the game for attendees to learn more information about season tickets and the Trojan Warrior Fund. Read more.

Football away-game tickets now on sale

Tickets for Troy's six away football games, including marquee contests at Boise State and LSU, are now on sale for Trojan Warrior Fund donors, season ticket holders and Troy University students, faculty and staff.

  • The TROY men’s golf team will begin NCAA Regional play today in the College Grove Regional. This marks the third consecutive NCAA Regional appearance for the team, which finished the season with a No. 63 national ranking. Read more
  • TROY baseball will travel to Starkville, Miss. on Tuesday to take on Mississippi State. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. The Trojans will finish out the regular season in Mobile with a three-game series against South Alabama. Game times are 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday. The Sun Belt Conference Tournament will be held May 23-28 in Statesboro, Ga.
  • Continuing Education and Outreach is currently taking registrations for the 2nd annual Alabama Leadership Conference to be held May 18. This intense, one-day conference will be held in the Gold Room of Whitley Hall on the Montgomery Campus. Whether you are a young professional beginning the road of leadership, mid-level manager continuing to shape your leadership or a senior executive looking at what legacy you might leave in retirement, now is the time to gain insight into the significant impression you make professionally and personally.   • The Special Olympics Alabama State Games will kick off on Friday with the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run at 2 p.m., followed by opening ceremonies that evening at 7 p.m. in Trojan Arena. Sporting events will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at various venues on campus and throughout the City of Troy. A Victory Dance will be held Saturday night and closing ceremonies will be conducted on Sunday at Trojan Arena.
  • The third annual Neal Brown Golf Classic is set for Tuesday, May 23, at the Wynlakes Golf and Country Club in Montgomery. The morning flight opens with registration and breakfast at 7 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m., while the afternoon flight opens with registration and lunch at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Read more.
  • University offices will be closed on May 29 for Memorial Day.
  • The first day of classes for Term 5 and Session A on the Troy Campus is Tuesday, May 30.
  • The Phenix City and Columbus/Fort Benning site will hold a joint commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. (EST) on June 2 at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center.
Congratulations to the following for their achievements:
  • Chanda Rigby, head women’s basketball coach, was among the more than 60 volunteers with Lowe’s Heroes to join Troy-Pike Habitat for Humanity last week to build a house as a part of Habitat for Humanity’s 10th annual National Women’s Build Week.
  • Dr. Dianne Eppler and Dr. William Heisler of the Sorrell College of Business have had their article titled “Marketing the HR Function to Improve HR’s Image” published in the Drake Management Review. The article suggests ways that the Human Resources function in organizations can improve its visibility and reputation by employing selected marketing concepts.
