The College of Health and Human Services at Troy University will provide you with the quality education you need to successfully pursue professional practice in several disciplines. Indicating their national prominence, the majority of academic programs in the College of Health and Human Services hold prestigious specialized accreditation.
The College of Health and Human Services aspires to the highest standards of educational excellence. Athletic training majors are often involved on the sidelines of Troy Trojans sporting events. Nursing majors learn their profession first-hand in clinics and hospitals. Physical education students are actively engaged in the community classrooms. Human services and social work majors participate with state agencies, hospices, nursing and group homes. Sport and fitness management majors practice sport entrepreneurship by organizing various events in the community.
The College blends a professional perspective with a liberal arts and science foundation so that its graduates are prepared for a seamless transition from college to career. Recent expansion of programs in the College include the Doctor of Nursing Practice, development of the School of Hospitality, Sport and Tourism Management (HSTM), a concentration in exercise sciences and the implementation of a Master of Social Work (MSW). Our success stories include School of Nursing students finding employment at UAB Children’s Hospital and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Sport and fitness management students in HSTM have attained positions in professional minor league baseball and intercollegiate athletics. A recent physical education graduate has been selected as Teacher of the Year in Tuscaloosa, AL. Graduates from human services and social work have been hired by national and international organizations. Athletic training graduates have interned with professional sport teams, major universities, and companies like Walt Disney.
