Lt. Col. Christopher Shannon has been named commander of Troy University’s Detachment 017 of the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps and will be chairman of the Department of Aerospace Studies.

Prior to his appointment to TROY, Lt. Col. Shannon was director of the On-Line Master’s, Leadership and Warfare Distance Learning Courses at Air University at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery.

Lt. Col. Shannon completed an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering technology at Southern Illinois University before earning a master’s degree in management from Webster’s University and a Master of Science in Military Operational Arts and Science from Air University.
