2020 HS SEUS Audition Material

Please prepare the following material for your audition on January 30, 2020.  Your score on the audition will be used for band and chair placements.

 Flute

1.  Chromatic Scale:

Play from C – C, THREE octaves.  The chromatic scale should be MEMORIZED and played in eighth notes, suggested tempo quarter note = 120.  Slur as you ascend, staccato as you descend.

2.  Sight-read

 Oboe

1.  Chromatic Scale:

Play from C – C, TWO octaves.  The chromatic scale should be MEMORIZED and played in eighth notes, suggested tempo quarter note = 120.  Slur as you ascend, staccato as you descend.

 Bb Clarinet

1.  Chromatic Scale:

Play from E below the staff to G above the staff, THREE octaves AND a third.  The chromatic scale should be MEMORIZED and played in eighth notes, suggested tempo quarter note = 120.  Slur as you ascend, staccato as you descend.

 Low Clarinets

1.  Chromatic Scale:

Play from F - F, TWO octaves.  The chromatic scale should be MEMORIZED and played in eighth notes, suggested tempo quarter note = 120.  Slur as you ascend, staccato as you descend.

1.  Chromatic Scale:

Play from F - F, TWO octaves.  The chromatic scale should be MEMORIZED and played in eighth notes, suggested tempo quarter note = 120.  Slur as you ascend, staccato as you descend.
