Counseling Services

Troy University's Student Counseling Center provides free and confidential mental health services to students at the Troy Campus. We offer both in-person individual counseling as well as telemental health options through our partnership with TimelyCare.

Counseling Services & Parent Information

College is often an exciting but stressful experience, and it is not uncommon for students to encounter mental health challenges during this time.

Troy University's Student Counseling Center provides free and confidential in-person mental health counseling.  To be eligible for our services, students must be currently enrolled in at least 1 credit hour, on-site at the Troy campus. The staff at the counseling center has experience working with a variety of issues that college students face.  We utilize a brief, solution focused model of therapy to help students reach their therapeutic and personal goals.

Students are seen on an appointment basis, which can be made by calling our office at (334) 670-3700.  Students must call themselves to schedule their appointment – parents, family, friends, and faculty cannot schedule on their behalf.

If it's determined that a student needs more extensive or specialized services, we can help refer them to the appropriate resource.

Additionally, Troy campus students also have free, 24/7 access to virtual care services with TimelyCare - the virtual health and well-being platform designed for college students.

As part of Troy University's partnership with TimelyCare, students have access to the following services:

• 24/7 TalkNow Resource
• Telemental Health Counseling
• Health Coaching
• Psychiatry
• Self-Care Content
• Basic Needs Support

The Student Counseling Center has compiled this list of resources for parents of students at Troy University. For more information, please contact our office.
