Athletic Training

Troy University is pleased to announce its transition from a Bachelor’s in Athletic Training to an entry-level professional Master of Science in Athletic Training. This change comes as a response to the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education’s (CAATE) recent decision to mandate all undergraduate professional Athletic Training programs transition to the graduate level no later than 2022. Troy University’s ahead of schedule transition to an entry-level Master’s of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) has a planned start of Fall 2020.

The Athletic Training program admitted the final undergraduate cohort in the spring of 2018 and plans to transition to the graduate level pending final approval from Troy University, Alabama Commission on Higher Education (ACHE), and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

In the meantime, for those students interested in the pursuit of the Maters of Science in Athletic Training degree at Troy University, it is recommended to consider a major in Exercise Science-Pre Health Professions.
