About the Center

The Troy University Center for Materials and Manufacturing Sciences will house state of the art research labs funded by the National Institute for Standards and Technology for the purposes of research in polymer chemistry.  Specifically, the CMMS will focus on finding new ways to recycle existing plastics as well as developing biodegradable plastics so as to combat the growing environmental challenge presented by plastic waste currently filling our landfills and threatening our oceans.
