Nutrition
Troy University is enhancing pathways for students pursuing careers in nutrition through strategic academic partnerships. Students from Jefferson State Community College and Coastal Alabama Community College can now transfer up to 18 credit hours of culinary and general education courses toward TROY's Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, bridging culinary arts with nutritional science. Additionally, TROY has established a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Rutgers University, offering early admission to five qualified third-year Nutrition students into Rutgers' Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetic Internship program. These partnerships provide students with streamlined, career-focused opportunities to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) and advance their education with confidence.
Physical Education
Troy University's Physical Education program offers students hands-on, community-focused experiences through dynamic partnerships and service-learning opportunities. Through collaborations with the Hank Jones Early Childhood Center and TROY Homeschool, students in courses like KHP 3361 and KHP 4410 engage directly with preschoolers in perceptual-motor development programs. In local schools, Physical Education majors plan and implement events such as the Fall Festival and Field Day at Troy Elementary School, and organize fundraisers to provide the Skatetime program free of charge to all students. The Physical Education Student Organization (PESO) further enriches student involvement by hosting guest speakers, supporting local initiatives like the elementary school clothes closet, and presenting at the Alabama State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Conference. These experiences prepare students to lead with creativity, compassion, and confidence in diverse educational settings.
