The School of Allied Health (SAH) is committed to providing outstanding educational opportunities for our students. Discovering and disseminating knowledge related to physical activity, pedagogy, nutrition and human movement science is the foundational basis of our department. We believe our dynamic field of study benefits the larger society by bringing awareness to the relationship between human health and human movement science. The completion of one of our degree programs provides professional preparation for careers in the allied health fields (e.g. Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Athletic Training, Physician Assistant, Registered Dietitian), fitness related industries, teaching and coaching, hospital/clinical programs, along with a host of other potential opportunities. Further, our program currently enjoys an acceptance rate much higher than the national average for those students wishing to enter one of the graduate health professions as well as an exceptional pass rate in the nationally accredited programs of Physical Education and Athletic training.
SAH has multiple academic programs that will surely fit the bill for your desire in a career in the human movement sciences. The Department currently offers several undergraduate degree options, all as a Bachelor of Science (BS). These are Exercise Physiology, Interprofessional Health Sciences, Nutrition, Physical Education, and Sports Coaching, each specifically tailored to give students both the scientific fundamentals and real world experience to be a successful graduate. We also house Masters programs in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, and Physical Education.

In our respected program, you'll gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in kinesiology and one of the following: Applied Physiology, Coaching or Sport Psychology. The American Kinesiology Association promotes and enhances kinesiology as a unified field of study and advances its many applications. AKA does this by advocating for kinesiology at national and international levels as well as by supporting its member departments by providing resource materials and leadership and educational opportunities for university administrators in kinesiology.
The USCCE is a national non-profit organization dedicated to elevating and enhancing the professions of sport coaching, coach education and coach development.
The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is the only non-governmental higher education organization in the United States that engages in and awards recognition to institutional and programmatic accrediting organization. Much like the accrediting process conducted by the CAAHEP, CHEA periodically reviews CAAHEP's effectiveness in assuring and improving quality in higher education. CHEA's recognition of CAAHEP is assurance that CAAHEP is competent to engage in quality review of programs based on the CHEA Standards.
