open to the public this summer. And, new for 2022, the school is also offering a four-week
course entitled Your Life, Your Success — Money Management and Financial Wellness
which is designed to give students an overview of financial principles that will help
them succeed.
Leadership 101: Effective Leadership for a Fast-Changing World
Course Description
Troy University's College of Education and the Institute for Leadership Development will once again collaborate to provide a free leadership course. This course focuses on various aspects of leadership. It will explore personal development, leadership style, action, cultural diversity, and events, all through the lens of effective leadership. This course is organized into four weekly lessons. Lessons are self-paced and will include videos, brief readings and connection opportunities through discussion forums. In the Leadership 101 course, students will learn how to lead themselves, how to engage with and work with people, and how to thrive in an uncertain and fast-changing world.

Your Life, Your Success: Money Management & Financial Wellness
Course Description
Troy University’s Sorrell College of Business is partnering with Guardian Credit Union to provide a free course on money management. Course participants will engage in a four-week, self-paced course with material covering a range of personal finance topics. Participants have the option to pursue one of two tracks: one for typical college-aged students and the other for the general public. Both tracks of the course are recommended, as information in both tracks may be useful.

For students who complete course requirements, pass the Challenge Exam and enroll in Fall 2022 or Term 1 2022 at TROY, this course can count for three credit hours as LDR 1100, Introduction to Leadership. LDR 1100 counts toward the Leadership Minor and is also listed as an Area IV General Studies course. Current TROY students who participate must have less than 15 hours of Troy University credit to receive academic credit for this free course.
Your Life, Your Success - Money Management and Financial Wellness
For students who complete course requirements, pass the Challenge Exam and enroll in Fall 2022 or Term 1 2022 at TROY, this course can count for three credit hours as FIN 2210, Personal Financial Planning. FIN 2210 counts as an elective and is also listed as an Area IV General Studies course. Current TROY students who participate must have less than 15 hours of Troy University credit to receive academic credit for this free course.

Leadership 101
Students will be exposed to a variety of outstanding leaders from a diverse array of career fields. They will gain a better understanding of themselves and how they can leverage their strengths and augment their weaknesses in order to be effective leaders at any level. Students will study leadership from a global perspective and will ultimately develop a personal philosophy of leadership that they can use immediately. Further, students will be able to interact with course facilitators through weekly Q&A sessions.
Your Life, Your Success - Money Management and Financial Wellness
Students will watch lectures on each topic, read selected articles, view other curated videos, participate in course discussions, access learning materials, participate in live Q&A sessions and watch informative sessions between the Sorrell College of Business faculty and Guardian Credit Union employees. Students may select two tracks in the course. One is aimed at a general audience and the other aimed at college students, though students are encouraged to review material and take assessments in both tracks as there is crossover between the tracks that may apply to anyone. Further, students will be able to interact with course facilitators through weekly Q&A sessions.
Leadership and money management are a skill set that can be learned by anyone. Troy University is committed to developing a new generation of leaders who are willing to step into the arena and Lead Change!
A Challenge Exam is a method by which students are evaluated to determine if they have mastered the concepts and content for a specific academic course in order to receive academic credit.
Assignments will be discussion boards, self-analysis and reflections, some journaling and at the end, along with the Challenge Exam, and a personal user manual you will be able to use to understand yourself better and how others might interact with you.
While dependent upon individual students, most students can expect to spend roughly 3-4 hours per week engaging with the course content.
