Biographical Sketch: Mary Eddins (nee Clements) was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She attended the University of Alabama, graduating with a bachelor's degree in education in 1969 and a master's in education, ca. 1971. In 1976, she received her AA certificate from Alabama A&M where she was studying for the Ed.D.
Mary Clements married Ray Eddins on October 14, 1972, in Northport, Alabama. They have two daughters, Rachel Adele Eddins Nichols and Mary Catherine Eddins.
Mary Eddins taught at Huntsville's Whitesburg Junior High School for a short time, then moved to Dothan. She resumed teaching when her daughters were in elementary school, first at the librarian at Abbeville Elementary in Henry County, then as a media specialist at Southside Elementary and, later, Cloverdale Elementary in the Dothan City School System. She retired in 2003 after serving 25 years and resides as of 2016 in Dothan.
Ms. Eddins supplied these family photographs to be scanned as part of the NEH-funded "Wiregrass Common Heritage Project" of the Wiregrass Archives and Troy University Dothan Campus History Department. The Project held two Community Scanning Days, June 18 and 25, 2016.
