Biographical Sketch: Kathleen Sauer (b. 1944) is a long-time resident of Enterprise, Troy, Montgomery, and Dothan, AL. She has been heavily involved with civic improvement groups at the local (Enterprise/Coffee Co.) and state levels, including serving as the Executive Director of the Governor's Task Force to Strengthen Alabama Families (Task Force President Barbara Everett) ca. 2004-2008.
Organizational Sketch: The Governor's Task Force to Strengthen Alabama Families was created in 2004 by Governor Bob Riley. The purpose of the Task Force was to recommend ways to redesign and strengthen Alabama's health and human services system. The Task Force recommended that each county have its own Family Resource Center. Additionally, the Task Force with Microsoft and Deloitte, designed and launched an online eligibility tool called, Camellia (Phase I) that was launched in 2007 to allow the public to conduct an assessment for 28 state health and human services programs without having to travel to a center.
