In honor of Teacher Appreciation Month, Troy University recognizes the impact of alumnus Deven Reese, whose journey from aspiring engineer to award-winning fifth-grade teacher reflects a deep commitment to student success, instructional innovation and service both in and beyond the classroom.

Deven Reese, who graduated with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from TROY, currently serves as a fifth-grade math and science teacher at Pike County Elementary School in Brundidge, Alabama. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, he contributes to his school community as a certified school bus driver and an after-school sewing instructor, expanding his impact well beyond the traditional school day.

New Scholarship for Educators

Troy University's new partnership program for educators across the nation. This partnership provides a 10% tuition scholarship and waives the application fee for active educators across the United States, making it easier than ever to take the next step in your academic and professional journey. This opportunity is designed to recognize the impact educators make every day while removing common barriers to continuing education. 

This scholarship is available to those currently working in the education sector, including K-12 teachers and administrators, early childhood educators, support staff and paraprofessionals.
