2019

  • College Factual ranked Troy University among the top 15% of Universities nationwide in its Top Colleges for Veterans rankings. TROY also ranked in the top 50 nationally in College Factual’s “Best Criminal Justice Programs for Vets” ranking.
  • ValueColleges.com has ranked TROY among its “Top 25 Best Value Online Master’s in Management Degrees for 2019.” TROY came in at number 20 nationally.
  • Dr. Kelly Suero, assistant professor of Spanish, is the recipient of the 2019 Ingalls Award for Excellence in Classroom Teaching.
  • Troy University seniors Brennan Garriques and Olivia Walleser and faculty member Sandra Thomas of the Sorrell College of Business were awarded the 2019 Algernon Sydney Sullivan Awards.
  • Dr. Theresa Johnson of the Department of English has received the 2019 Faculty Senate Excellence Award.
  • BusinessStudent.com has ranked TROY among its “Editors’ Choice Top 50 Online MBA Programs for 2019. TROY was ranked 24th nationally and sixth among university’s in the southeast.
  • TROY risk management and insurance student Hollan Vander Hey is one of 36 students worldwide to receive a 2019 Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program grant presented by RIMS, the risk management society.
  • Great Value Colleges has ranked TROY’s online bachelor’s degree in psychology program as the fourth most affordable in the country in its 2019 rankings.
  • The Troy University Jazz Ensemble was recently chosen as “most outstanding university jazz ensemble” in Alabama by the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame.
  • Students from the Hall School of Journalism and Communication excelled at international and regional conferences this spring. TROY won the award for Best Television Video News Report at the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System’s International Conference in March. Students also brought home awards in 11 categories from the Southeast Journalism Conference and won or placed in eight categories at the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Region 3 competition.
  • TROY’s Alpha Tau Omega fraternity took part in its annual Walk Hard fundraising walk during Spring Break, bringing in more than $73,000 to benefit Jeep Sullivan’s Wounded Warrior Outdoor Adventures, a Bonifay, Fla.-based nonprofit that takes veterans on therapeutic outdoor excursions.
  • The City of Prattville honored Troy University First Lady Janice Hawkins for her commitment to the arts during a banquet in March. The city declared March 2 as Janice Hawkins Day.
  • TROY’s online master’s program in sports management has been recognized among the nation’s best by Best Values Schools. TROY’s program was ranked seventh.
  • The Alabama State Department of Education has named Troy University as a 2019 Green Ribbon School for its commitment to sustainability, wellness and reducing the environmental impact of the campus.
  • Values Colleges has named TROY to its “Best Value Online Master’s in Management Degree Programs” ranking for 2019. TROY was ranked 20th in the nation.
  • SR Education Group has ranked TROY among the state’s best in online undergraduate program offerings.
  • TROY Chancellor, Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., was sworn in as chair of the Board of Trustees for the American Village Citizenship Trust in January.
  • The Master’s Program Guide has ranked TROY third in its 2019 ranking of the “50 Best Online Master of International Relations Degree Programs.”
  • The Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training has continued the accreditation of TROY’s English as a Second Language Program for three years.
  • Great Values Colleges has ranked TROY as the second “Most Affordable Online Doctorate in Sport Management” program for 2019. Troy, which placed 2nd, was selected not only for the program’s affordability but also for the institution’s overall outstanding reputation, its faculty’s excellence, and the unerring commitment to providing non-traditional students a high-quality education and in doing so, giving them all the tools that they need to achieve their future career goals.
  • The Bachelor’s Degree Center has ranked TROY among its “25 Best Bachelor’s in Sports Management Programs” ranking for 2019.
  • BestMastersDegrees.com has ranked TROY in its top “35 Best Master’s Degrees in Criminal Justice” rankings.
  • Troy University’s Sorrell College of Business has become one of just 189 colleges of business worldwide to hold dual accreditation from AACSB. Sorrell College’s School of Accountancy received supplemental accreditation from AACSB in January.
  • CollegeValuesOnline.com recently ranked TROY’s Master of Science in Nursing program seventh in its “Top 30 Values 2019” ranking of online MSN programs.
  • Online-Bachelor-Degrees.com has named TROY to its “Best Online Schools for Bachelor in Sports Management Degree Programs 2019” list.
  • U.S. News and World Report included Troy University in its “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs” and “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans” lists. TROY was also included in the following rankings: “Best Online Graduate Business Programs;” “Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs;” “Best Online Graduate Education Programs;” and, “Best Online Graduate Criminal Justice Programs.”
  • Troy University’s Sorrell College of Business achieved accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the world’s leading institution for business schools.
