Theatre and Dance Participation Days

Visiting the Department of Theatre and Dance

Choosing a college often feels like one of the hardest decisions you will make in your life. With so many options before you, how do you choose?  We believe you will discover clearer answers to your questions if you come spend time with us and see for yourself.

Participation Days give you the chance to become a TROY student for a day, choose your classes, experience our faculty, get to know our students, even see them in performance. At the end of the day, you will know whether you see your future self in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Troy University.

  • October 15-16, 2025 (including production of Twelfth Night)
  • November 19-20, 2025 (including production of Clara's Nutcracker)

TROY Theatre & Dance is a multifaceted program which offers you the opportunity to tailor a course of study to your goals, your interests, your talents. If you want to work in, create for, and study multiple areas of theatre or dance so that you are in control of your own artistry, and, ultimately, your future, then, Troy University may be the fit for you.  Competitive scholarship awards for selected Theatre, Dance, and Theatre Education majors are available for the new 2026-2027 academic year.

  • February 8, 2026 - International Association of Blacks in Dance (Atlanta, GA)
  • March 5, 2026 - National High School Dance Festival (Norfolk, VA)
  • July 4-10, 2026 - Dance Educators of America Nationals (West Palm Beach, FL)

  • December 3-4, 2025 – Trumbauer State Theatre Festival (Birmingham, AL)
  • January 15-18, 2026 – Mississippi Theatre Association (Oxford, MS)
  • March 4-7, 2026 – Southeastern Theatre Conference (Chattanooga, TN)
  • February 13-14, 2026 – Alabama Thespian Festival (Birmingham, AL)
  • February 5-7, 2026 – Georgia Thespian Conference (Columbus, GA)

Additional Scholarships

Last year, TROY awarded over $20M in scholarships. Students studying Theatre and Dance have access to a variety of scholarships, many of which can be combined with departmental awards. These include the Excellence Scholarship for Theatre, the Jeff Taylor Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Theatre Lighting and Sound, the Marion Rhodes Theatre Scholarship, the Performing Arts - Collaborative, the Performing Arts - Dance, the Performing Arts - Theatre, and the Dean's Excellence Scholarship for Dance.
