Welcome to the John M. Long School of Music
We are pleased that you are visiting our music program at Troy University. The students, faculty, and staff in the John M. Long School of Music are committed to musical excellence in the classroom and in the performance arena. Our ensembles and classes are filled with many of Troy University’s best and brightest students from across the country and from all majors on our campus.
If you are considering music as an undergraduate or graduate major at Troy University, you will find a music faculty dedicated to helping you develop the skills and knowledge needed to be a competent, caring music education professional. Graduate assistantships are available in several areas. If you are considering a non-music major, you will find many opportunities to be involved with music that are non-threatening, challenging, and fun. Scholarships are available by audition to all students. We encourage you to apply.
We hope that you will make time to visit our Troy University campus. We have found that meeting faculty and students “face to face” is a great way to decide if our School of Music is right for you.
Troy University is a fully accredited institutional member of the National Association
of Schools of Music (NASM).
