Come and join the Troy University Vocal Jazz ensemble (frequency) and clinician, Cindy Dicken (noted jazz clinician and vocalist and all around terrific human being!) for a day of contemporary music making and learning!

Opening Session and Morning Clinics 9:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Lunch 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. 
Afternoon Clinics/Final Session  1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Greg JasperseCindy Dicken

Cindy Dicken is an internationally renowned performer and educator. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Mt. San Antonio College, El Camino College, Fullerton College and Concordia University Irvine.   Cindy has sung on over 50 films such as Spider-Man 1-3, Armageddon, Star Trek, Wall-E, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Ice Age, and was one of five featured a cappella singers on the score of the TV show, Glee. She has also been featured onscreen and on the score of TV shows such as Nip/Tuck, The Drew Carey Show, How I Met Your Mother, The Simpsons and Ally McBeal. Cindy also had the opportunity to sing on albums for artists such as Barbra Streisand, Linkin Park, Michael Buble and Richard Carpenter. She has sung on commercials for Visa, True Value Hardware, Burger King and The Walt Disney Company, as well as countless publishing demos for The Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation. Some other career highlights were singing for Danny Elfman’s wedding at the Los Angeles Cathedral, assistant directing a children’s choir for Linkin Park’s concert in Los Angeles, and singing on the Oscars broadcast hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, which included singing backup for Beyonce Knowles and Jennifer Hudson. She is also a member of the award winning a cappella vocal sextet, Sixth Wave, with whom she had the honor of opening for and performing with Imogen Heap on her concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles in 2010, as well as winning the National A Cappella Harmony Sweepstakes in 2001. Cindy's ensembles have won DownBeat Magazine Student Music Awards, had the honor of performing at the 2008 International Association of Jazz Education International Convention in Toronto, ON, been featured performers on the Christmas Day broadcast for Fox Sports, and performed at many other festivals and concert venues. Cindy has acted as a clinician and adjudicator for concert choirs, vocal jazz groups and show choirs at festivals including the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, Cuesta College Jazz Festival, the Oceanside Jazz Festival, the Pleasant Hill Jazz Festival, the Clackamas College Vocal Jazz Festival, the Val Verde Jazz Festival, the Fullerton Jazz Festival, the UNC Jazz Festival, CHSAA Show Choir/Vocal Jazz/ A Cappella festival, Brandon Jazz Festival, Forum Music Festivals, Musical Theatre Competitions of America, SCVA Vocal Jazz Festival and for the TIME organization in Edmonton, Alberta. Cindy's greatest joy outside of music is spending time with her husband, son and two dogs.
